At the request of a friend ... a dear dear friend ... I was asked to end my "un-plugged" life without a computer and get back in touch with the world.
OK 'R' - here I am again ... well sorta.
Admittedly, I really did/do enjoy not having a computer at home .... so as a compromise, I bought a NOOK tablet. However, the wi-fi has not been restored at my house, so web access means leaving home. That's one way to keep online time to a minimum. Web access now mandates driving to a coffee shop ie. Panera or Starbucks and sitting in the parking lot to log-on to their wi-fi connection.
Sounds more arduous than it actually is. This approach will also have positive effects on my wallet ~~ it is far too easy to cure boredom with online shopping or impulse buying ... Now the old "click & buy" means getting into the car and driving to shop online.
So 'R' - as requested - I'm back. Sorta. :-/
